This property is located in O Saviñao, in a small village 20 km from Monforte de Lemos, in a green, elevated setting surrounded by woodland, with wonderful views over the Ribeira Sacra landscape. This is a traditional stone house built in an L-shape around a small inner courtyard. It was the first building in the village, originally conceived as the home of a hidalgo, and has always belonged to the same family. The house is built on solid rock, which protects it from ground moisture, and has 585 sqm built over two floors with independent access from outside. The upper floor is restored and houses the living spaces: five bedrooms, a kitchen, a bathroom and a large sitting room with windows onto the courtyard. The ground floor remains unrestored, with the original stone walls and the bare rock underfoot. The courtyard can be reached from the upper balcony or through a wooden gate from outside, and is a charming space that houses a stone washhouse and a large wood-fired oven. The estate, of over 2.5 hectares (6.18 acres) on gently sloping ground, is planted with oaks, mostly American oaks, together with good-sized cork oaks. At the top of the estate there is a natural spring supplying water to the house. O Saviñao forms part of the Ribeira Sacra, home to one of the highest concentrations of rural Romanesque art in Europe and known for its heroic viticulture.
