The pool garden has an 8x4 m wide 1.5 m deep pool with shallow end steps (it's raised 18cms making it safer for toddlers). It has mosaic shower, swing-seat in an arbour of bougainvillaea overlooking the pool, a Spanish tiled BBQ by a shady arbour of honeysuckle and Virginia creeper with a picnic table,  cushioned sun-loungers, and a mimosa tree, all accessed by a romantic wooden Japanese bridge from the front Veranda which has an extending alfresco dining table. The main villa has 4 bedrooms. Two living rooms - both of which have their own wood burner fireplace. The main lounge / diner also has the kitchen, and the most beautiful views from the glassed walls. You can sit in front of the cos wood burner fire and admire the view for hours. There are 2 bathrooms in the main house; one has a claw-foot bath with shower taps, a separate shower and a bidet, the other has a wheelchair friendly shower and laundry facilities.Downstairs there is a 2 bedroomed studio flat, with kitchenette and wet room shower/utility. Stairs from the kitchen lead down to a traditional paella kitchen. There is another sitting/dining room with wood-burner. This room leads to a large covered veranda, (overlooking the pool garden) with extending table for alfresco dining and comfortable seating.At the back of the house there are secluded terraces, as you go down to the river, featuring 'the Buddha garden' - an outdoor sleeping/cooking area. Here there are lemon, fig, pear, plum, pomegranate, persimmon, walnut, & nispero trees. The bridge over an acequia (irrigating orange groves) leads through oleander & bamboo to the river Serpis. It's a natural 'adventure playground'; a paradise for fishermen/anglers, ornithologists, botanists, geologists, artists, writers and children. Great for wild swimming in the magical waters of the river Serpis. Opposite, orange and almond terraces lead up to Moorish terraces & huge limestone crags. In great walking, climbing, mountain biking terrain, the house stands 20m above the river, located on the Via Verdi, a feeder route for the Camino de Santiago de Compostela {you can get your first stamp on your 'Camino' at the local hotel) the disused railway trail from Gandia to Alcoi. 13km of unsurpassed forested mountain scenery, waterfalls, birds, flora & fauna, limestone crags, following the river's course as it tumbles out of Raco del Duc.
